Network survey is a key step in evaluating the various components of the grid, such as the overhead and underground cables, poles, transformers, substations & feeders. For that matter, NEUC has successfully surveyed most of the 25,000 km network cables within the villages and municipalities under its responsibility, despite some difficulties encountered in the course of work. Giving us a clear picture of the current conditions of the network and identifying its main points of weakness.
This data, in addition to other factors such as the economic benefits and the projected growth in population and customers in the targeted areas, allowed our engineers to set forth individual investment plans for each of our divisions. NEUC was then able to present its Global Investment Plan for the coming 10 years, which represents our holistic approach to resolving the various problems and deficiencies the grid currently faces, through many construction projects which we plan to execute. We have also prepared preventive and corrective maintenance plans that will help us preserve the existing assets as well as the new assets added to the grid. |
